Perth's Men's Shed aims to provide men of all ages and backgrounds with a safe and busy environment in which they can improve their physical, mental and social health, productivity and value to the community through the development of a facility in which men can meet and undertake creative physical and recreational activities of their choice.
Men between 18 and 118 with time on their hands are welcome at North Inch Community Campus Wednesday nights from 5pm – 8pm or Saturdays 10am – 3pm.
The North Inch Campus, and their Business Manager Steve McIntosh, have kindly opened the doors to the Technical Department to let Perth's Men Shed get the ball rolling and start to build their membership.
They now have access to hand tools for both metal and woodwork to undertake various projects and share the skills of the group around. Within the Shed, there are engineers, joiners, administrators and even a nurse! There is no necessity to take up tools and build Chippendale furniture or wrought iron sculptures; even though the Shed meets in a Technical Department there plenty scope for social banter.
As part of the Shed programme they have arranged Speakers to come along once a month at present; to let us all look outwards, sharing other experiences from Friends in the Community.
