The Dementia Cafe is a monthly gathering where people with dementia, their family, caregivers and friends can be together in a safe, welcoming environment, in the company of other caregivers.
This is a group for people who are able to attend safely on their own, or who are accompanied by someone to support them.
Volunteers and health and social care professionals are available for the purpose of emotional support, advice/guidance and opportunities for social interaction.
They have developed a new and innovative approach to dementia care. Their view is simple - the person with dementia has a right to continue living life as they have always done... for as long as possible.
