Education Attainment Service for Young Carers

“Attainment is an individual’s passport to personal, social, cultural and economic opportunities. Raising attainment means improving life chances. This does not mean just focusing on exam results but instead looking at attainment in its widest sense. It is this rich attainment which enables all children and young people to make good progress and develop the skills, ambition, and know-how they need to improve life chances.”

The Education Attainment service (EASyc) is a new provision to PKAVS Young Carers, funded by Perth and Kinross Council. The overall aim of the service is to support identified Young Carers who are disengaging with education.

The service will be open to Young Carers between 5 – 18 years and will offer:

  • Homework Clubs
  • Remote Access to Study Supports
  • Time-limited private tuition
  • Emotional/Practical support to help with engagement
  • Access to Educational Hardware and Software

We are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated bank of Tutors in all areas of the Curriculum to work on a 1-1 basis with young people for a time-limited period. Sessions may take place within our one of our PKAVS centres, schools or a mutually convenient establishment. As we support Young Carers all over Perth and Kinross, there is an option to set up online 1-1 sessions for those living within rural localities. Click here for more info on how to get involved as Tutor.
