Current Respitality Partners

We are very grateful to all of our Respitality Partners and will continue to work with them to recognise and support the work that unpaid carers do. Thank you for your support!

Our current Respitality Partners are listed below alongside some of the feedback we have recieved from carers who have been matched with a Respitality gift so far.

The Salutation Hotel in Perth City Centre have been a fabulous support to PKAVS for many years. In a show of support they were one of the first businesses to become a Respitality Partner of the Carers Hub back in 2016.

"It was  nice to not stress about going away and be pampered. Nobody at the Salutation Hotel made us feel different, we were treated like normal guests."

Live Active Leisure signed up as a Respitality Partner during Carers Week 2017 by gifting 200 activity vouchers plus 'buy one get one free' refreshment vouchers for use in LAL cafes. The activity vouchers entitle a carer and a friend to a free swim, gym or class at any LAL venue.

Dunkeld House Hotel

"Hospitality is an industry about caring for people and providing experiences to remember, something that Dunkeld House Hotel has been doing for years. We believe that everyone deserves a break, a chance to unwind and to escape from the daily grind which is why when we saw the great work Respitality was doing we decided that this was a charity that we wanted to work with. We hope that over time our partnership with Respitality will grow and we can offer more gifts so that more people will have the opportunity to step back and have some ‘me time’."

Natalie Parsons, Digital Marketing Executive, Dunkeld House Hotel.

Four Seasons

The Four Seasons Hotel, St Fillans joined Respitality in 2016. Their gifts of Dinner, Bed & Breakfast! have been such a lovely addition to the breaks that we can offer unpaid carers in Perth & Kinross. The Four Seasons is situated in a picturesque setting on the banks of Loch Earn. Isobel and her friend Ann were fortunate enought to stay here in May and this is what she had to say about her Respitality experience:

"Even one night away from the usual responsibilites makes a big difference, just having yourself to think about even for a short time. I was able to spend time exploring the country walks without worrying".

Blair Athol Distillery

Carers from Perth and Blairgowrie were treated to a complimentary Distillery Tour followed by a taste of Blair Athol 12 Year Old Single Malt at the end of June thanks to the wonderful Respitality gifts from Blair Athol Distillery in Pitlochry. Thanks to this gift we were able to bring together two groups of carers that we support for an enjoyable day off from their caring worries! This is just another perfect example of how Respitality can be used to help recognise and appreciate the contribution of unpaid Carers. (Pictured: Carers presenting Steven Dye from Blair Athol Distillery with their Respitality Certificate)

"I've had an excellent day out. It was the first day spent with other carers. I feel more confident sharing my experiences with other people and now don't feel so isolated"

"A great break from caring to recharge the batteries"

Solicitors for Older PeoplePKAVS and Solicitors For Older People Scotland have a long history of partnership through the training that they put on for Carers so when they heard we had launched our Respitality project they were only too keen to help. Thanks to their generoisty PKAVS Carers Hub were able to purchase 2 afternoon tea experiences for unpaid Carers to enjoy.

"This treat made my day. My friend and I enjoyed a long chat in a relaxing atmosphere. It lifted my spirits a bit" Carer, Respitality Gift of Afternoon Tea for two.

PKAVS were delighted to have the opportunity to present about Respitality to the Birnam & Dunkeld Tourism Association Meeting back in April were introduced to some very generous businesses who wanted to get on board! James Irvine from Birnam Arts said "as an organisation Birnam Arts relies alot on the goodwill of volunteers and as soon as we learned of the great work PKAVS Respitality project are doing, we felt it was only fitting that we give something back."

Hilary the owner of the Merryburn Hotel in Birnam also joined as a Respitality partner after the tourism meeting in April and very kindly offered an overnight stay and an afternoon tea experience for an unpaid carer and companion. Yvonne and her friend visited the Merryburn in June for an afternoon of delicious tea, cakes, sandwhiches.

"It was the best few hours i've spent in months and months and the best scones i have ever tasted! I would rate the whole experience a 15/10. I felt so chilled and relaxed, i came home and felt so much better"
