Last night the BBC shone a light into the reality of being a young carer. This is the story of how the dynamics of a family completely changed after Charlotte had both her legs and hands amputated as a result of pneumococcal sepsis.
“Katie [Charlotte's 11-year-old daughter] has become my young carer, who saved my life. I wouldn't know what to do without her. If it wasn't for her, I don't think I'd be here today"
The purpose of Young Carers Awareness Day is to raise public awareness of the challenges faced by young people because of their caring role.
The end of last year was a very busy time for our Young Carers as always! Read on to find out what they got up to!
We are delighted to announce that Young Carers have been awarded a grant from The Crerar Trust. This funding will prove invaluable in helping us to plan a fun, action packed respite programme for all.
