Being a Young Carer

Last night the BBC shone a light into the reality of being a young carer. This is the story of how the dynamics of a family completely changed after Charlotte had both her legs and hands amputated as a result of pneumococcal sepsis.

“Katie [Charlotte's 11-year-old daughter] has become my young carer, who saved my life. I wouldn't know what to do without her. If it wasn't for her, I don't think I'd be here today"
